Danilo Medina Wins Dominican Republic Elections

The JCE offered around 5:00 am on Monday the bulletin number nine with 14.104 polling stations counted, for a 97.47 percent, which gives presidential and vice presidential candidate of the PLD, Danilo Medina, and First Lady Margarita Cedeno de Fernandez, 51.27 % of the votes, getting 2,266,288 votes.

While the candidates of the PRD Hipolito Mejia and Luis Abinader got 2,073,306 (46.91%).

Moments of great tension in the JCE lived last night when the PRD before it was issued the first bulletin initiate a series of allegations to the effect that the electoral body had supposedly changed the transmission system results.

The situation began to move more than a hundred journalists, cameramen and photographers covering the impact of the process, who scampered down the halls looking to get feedback on what was happening.

Until the newsletter zero the situation was normal, then started transmissions by voting records, apparently the results of the PRD put them on alert.

Since the beginning, the results gave the lead to Medina.
