Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum is due to speak shortly amid US media reports he is poised to quit his campaign.
The social conservative had been campaigning for Pennsylvania's primary on 24 April.
His exit would leave former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney as the all but certain nominee.
Mr Santorum was lagging far behind in terms of delegates and funding in the Republican nomination race.
After recent losses in Wisconsin and Maryland, Mr Santorum had 285 delegates compared to Mr Romney's 661, according to an Associated Press tally.
Former House of Representatives Speaker Newt Gingrich and Texas Congressman Ron Paul are also still in the race, but are even further behind Mr Romney.
