A six-year-old child was killed when the roof of a
Protestant house of worship collapsed in St Denis, to the north of
Paris, police say.
Twelve people were also injured when the roof of the structure, in Pierrefitte-sur-Seine, caved in at 14:30 local time (13:30 GMT).
Around 100 worshippers, thought to be of Haitian origin, were evacuated from the building, where a service had been taking place.
The injured were taken to hospital.
Reports say 150 firefighters and a helicopter are on site.
Pierrefitte-sur-Seine is located 2.4 km (1.5 miles) north of the centre of Paris.
