Denver Airport: 300 Cancellations From Storm

Denver airport officials say snow from a spring storm has prompted about 300 flight cancellations.

They say about half of the cancellations at Denver International Airport early Tuesday are commuter flights. Officials say passengers should expect departure delays as airlines deice planes.

Forecasters predicted 6 to 11 inches of snow in the city, but airport officials say the snowfall has not been as intense. Still, Denver Public Schools canceled classes and ordered offices closed.

The storm arrived Monday from California, where winds knocked down power lines and trees. It swept up blowing dust in Arizona and caused a freeway pileup.
