Boost Mobile in association with Guerilla Union have announced the return of the ROCK THE BELLS 2012 FESTIVAL SERIES powered by BlackBerry. The world-class platform will feature an array of seminal and flourishing artists over an expanded two-day period in four major North American markets, including headliners Kid Cudi, J Cole, Wiz Khalifa, Atmosphere and more, with special guests Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.

The only touring hip-hop festival will kick off in San Bernardino, CA on August 18 and 19 at the NOS Events Center. The festival will then make its way to Mountain View, CA on August 25 and 26 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre and will wrap on the east coast in Holmdel, NJ on September 1 and 2 at PNC Arts Center.

ROCK THE BELLS and non-profit organization Hip Hop and Hope for Haiti have joined forces to shine light on the disaster-stricken country and to provide continued relief efforts; that of which have progressively decelerated. ROCK THE BELLS will make its way to Miami, FL in December at Bayfront Amphitheatre (date to be determined) as the unofficial fourth market of the festival. Artists from this, and prior years, will perform in this special benefit show where all proceeds will be donated to Hip Hop and Hope for Haiti.

ROCK THE BELLS has steadily built a reputation of reuniting some of hip-hop’s most seminal acts, as well as slating artists to perform their most influential albums in its entirety—the 2012 festival is no exception to this expectation. All members of Hit Squad and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will be reunited at the festival. Hit Squad, the east-coast collective of EPMD, Redman, Das EFX, K-Solo, Keith Murray, and DJ Scratch, disbanded in 1993 following the success of their fourth album Business Never Personal. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will make their way to the stage with all five members for the first time in over 20 years, performing a special tribute to the late Eazy E, as well as their breakout album E. 1999 Eternal in its entirety, which includes the Grammy award-winning hit “Tha Crossroads”. Method Man and Redman will close one of two stages at this year’s festival, performing their 1999 debut album Blackout! in its entirety.
In addition to highlighting classic and timeless hip-hop music and artists, ROCK THE BELLS has also served as a platform to showcase and propel the next generation of talent. Guerilla Union welcomes back to the festival Tyga, Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa, and Yelawolf—all ROCK THE BELLS alumni who will be featured, this year, on the ROCK THE BELLS STAGE. DJ Lance Rock and Friends—from the award-winning Nick Jr. show “Yo Gabba Gabba!”—will be this year’s most innovative addition.

For the first time in history, ROCK THE BELLS is expanding to two days at each festival stop. Similar to the 2011 festival, there will be three stages—the ROCK THE BELLS STAGE, the RZA-curated 36 CHAMBERS STAGE sponsored by the Capcom videogame Resident Evil® 6, and the independent mainstay PAID DUES STAGE. The Rock the Bells Stage will be featured over both days at each festival stop while the 36 Chambers stage and Paid Dues Stage will alternate between days.

Following a very successful year and partnership, Guerilla Union, the live events company behind superlative platforms including Cypress Hill SmokeOut Festival and Paid Dues Independent Hip-Hop Festival, has teamed up once again with title sponsor Boost Mobile powered by BlackBerry for the ninth annual installment of ROCK THE BELLS. In addition to the renewed relationship with Boost Mobile, Guerilla Union and strategic partner House of Blues/Live Nation are once again providing intimate club tours featuring select ROCK THE BELLS artists on dates surrounding the festival shows. Look for more information on the confirmed artists and routing for the “ROCK THE BELLS PRESENTS” CLUB & THEATER SERIES shortly.

The Guerilla Union pre-sale for the ROCK THE BELLS 2012 FESTIVAL SERIES will begin on Friday, May 18 at 10am PST – 10pm PST. The general on-sale starts on Saturday, May 19 at 10am PST.
